Finance Manager leanne Pilkington been awarded the title of Unsung Hero of the year after winning a prestigious award on the National Enterprise Network awards.
Leanne, a Finance Manager at Doncaster-based Finance For Enterprise, added another trophy on the alternative funding provider’s cabinet after winning the Unsung Hero of the season award.
Instrumental in helping over 400 small enterprises from across South Yorkshire to view over 500 million in financial support to assist launch, develop and boost their business, Leanne only agreed to be among four shortlisted within the UK within the Unsung Hero category, after being covertly nominated with the award by her colleagues at Finance For Enterprise who described her to be a ‘hidden gem’ whilst highlighting her impact to assist the organisation to grow.
After joining the not-for-profit organisation this year for Administration Officer, Leanne quickly displayed determination by subtracting on additional roles and responsibilities, mainly overseeing the re-brand within the organisation from Donbac to advance For Enterprise in 2014. To help develop her role and career while in the financial industry, Leanne spends her time in the evening studying at Doncaster College with an AAT qualification in Accountancy, which the nation’s Enterprise Network judges commended, saying it absolutely was “testament to Leanne’s attitude that she embraced all opportunities afforded to her.”
Leanne was offered her award at a glittering awards ceremony which occurred within the Nat West Conference Centre, London and was organised through the National Enterprise Network, an affiliate body comprising enterprise support providers within England. She was presented the award by National Enterprise Network Chairman Graham Marley who praised Finance For Enterprise for “encouraging and allowing its professionals at kretchmer dentistry growing and develop.”
Leanne Pilkington said:?”It would have been a complete surprise to uncover I’d been shortlisted, as my colleagues submitted a nomination on my behalf and I didn’t know anything over it! But it being really a shock when my name was called out when the winner. To listen for the judges praise besides myself however the organisation I love earning a living for became a real highlight on the night at this point proud to get the main Finance For Enterprise team and i also anticipate developing my career further.”
