Boeing’s multi-million pound plans for Sheffield are actually with the go-ahead by planning officers at City Council.

The aerospace giant featuring saving money light to make a manufacturing and research facility along at the Sheffield Business Park C its first in Europe.

It will be located adjacent to Sheffield Uni’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre within the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District.

Here the corporation will produce actuation systems for commercial aeroplanes.

The move will create at the very least 30 new jobs and give the region’s businesses with significant new logistics opportunities.

Professor Keith Ridgway, Executive Dean with the University of Sheffield’s AMRC, said: “This announcement may be the culmination on the successful relationship that’s got developed since AMRC with Boeing began 16 a long time ago. We’re also delighted our region is now together to back up this investment C it sets us apart as a leading location for high-value advanced manufacturing.”
